Hi, I'm Joe Toliver!

I have many passions, but community building resonates
with me the most.

A Little About Me

I currently serve as a Managing Partner with Dooling Enterprises, a conglomerate of business ventures and collaborations. The firm’s mission is to empower and inspire others toward their best life through strategies that are intentional, innovative, and balanced.

I have over two decades of experience in strategic planning, nonprofit leadership, fund development, capital campaigns, grant administration, business development, public speaking and life coaching.

During my career, I served as Vice President of Philanthropy and Communications for the Urban League of Broward County. I had the opportunity to oversee operations for marketing, public relations, and community building. I was also responsible for fund development and lead staff for the Urban League’s 8.5 million dollar capital campaign to build a new 28,000 square foot Community Empowerment Center.

Prior to this role with the Urban League, I worked at United Way of Broward County as the Director of Grants Administration. I was responsible for managing the Edward Byrne/JAG Memorial grant program and award process, which included helping grantees with fiscal sustainability and program accountability. The grant provided $1 million dollars annually, and in 2009, $3.5 million dollars in federal stimulus funds was added to further support community groups, service agencies and local government. While at the United Way I also served as the Director of Community Mobilization and Empowerment. My primary responsibilities included volunteer recruitment, coalition building, and training.

My Purpose
In my professional career it has been my purpose to foster positive relationships, develop strategies and create opportunities for sustainable impact.
My Passions

I have many passions, but community building resonates with me the most. Mostly, because I believe there are significant possibilities for impact, change and growth with the efforts of community-based grassroots efforts.
