Think about it: from the very moment you were born you unlocked a life filled with learning. Learning how to walk…learning how to talk…learning your ABCs…should I continue? Often times your learning was taught by someone experienced in the areas you needed to grow. If you skipped any of the learning milestones you could delay your growth. As adults, it is so easy to get lost in the day-to-day that we may forget the importance of learning and continuing to seek opportunities to grow and sharpen our toolkit. Just as we budget time and money for other essentials, we must set aside resources to support our learning goals.
Vision vs Reality
The second I graduated with my Master’s in Nonprofit Management I scratched schooling off my list. But who knew the moment I thought I was done getting my education was actually the very moment learning had begun… I found the time that I would have spent for classes, now spent at networking events, conferences, and investing in courses. It was clear, to stay relevant in my ever-changing field I must go to places and learn from others who have more experience than me.
Even Coaches Need Coaches
I have various coaches to support me in my efforts to support others which brings greater value to those I work with and saves me time in the long run. Think Return On Invest (ROI)! You can figure out things on your own, or you can have someone who has been where you are going join you on the journey to help you get to your goals much faster. No matter where you are in your nonprofit/business journey, it is important to seek out professional and experienced people to support you along the way. Don’t forget even the greatest coaches have a coach.
With all of these amazing learning experiences, I am constantly growing as a nonprofit leader and consultant. I love having the opportunity to share what I have learned with my clients and help them reach their goals faster!
